The UK's official #1 fitness society!
At CUCF we are dedicated to promoting health, fitness and athletic performance through a wide range of techniques in a fun, safe environment. We are a community of like-minded individuals who motivate and develop one another towards our personal and athletic goals, whatever they may be. We focus on fitness and strength-sports, primarily Weightlifting, Powerlifting and Interdisciplinary fitness (CrossFit style training) although we actively involve ourselves in other sports such as Strongman and Bodybuilding.

Liam Rodgers, President/Weightlifting coach:
I'm a competitive weightlifter and semi-professional weightlifting coach with around 18 months coaching experience. I am an avid fan of all power and strength sports, but my interests are primarily Olympic Weightlifting, Sprinting and Jump training. I also enjoy the coaching side of sports like Rugby and American football, among others. I study philosophy at the university and am employed as Director of Programming and CEA of an S&C gym. I am hoping to bring my passion for strength sports into my role as President, as well as helping any athlete achieve her/his potential either through the society or individually. I can be contacted at president.cucf@gmail.com, or at the S&C on park place most days as I'm currently training 10 times a week.

Shaun Howell, Vice-President/Coach:
I'm a PhD student at Cardiff University with a passion for fitness, I founded CUCF 3 years ago because I love working towards my fitness goals and helping others to do the same. I've tried loads of sports from weightlifting, rowing and rugby all the way to competitive fire dancing and slamball, as well as achieving an accredited fitness instructor qualification. Through these experiences I have learnt that a widely varied, functional and challenging strength and fitness regime is an underpinning requirement for all sports. I intend to promote fitness and strength sports through CUCF by running regular training sessions and providing advice and guidance. To me the most important part of this club is that it remains open to everyone; whatever your fitness goals are, this club can help you achieve them.
Nicolo Bertoncello, Secretary:
I was a CrossFitter until I realised I couldn't flex cardio, now I just do weightlifting and look pretty.

As with Nicolo, I used to dominate the world of CrossFit but have turned to attention to putting heavy things over my head instead. Also, cats, that is all.
